Autobiographical Fiction

28 February
I grew up in west Michigan, went to college in Kalamazoo, majored in English Lit and Art History, have lived/worked in Denver, Kansas City, Northern California, Key West, and here, back in the Valley of the Nazi Calvinists.
I was a single mom for 13 years; my daughter is the oldest 17-year-old on the planet. I've been married for a year and a half to the most amazingly kind, patient, generous, fun, delightful man. He is a better husband than I would have ever dreamed possible (I was very, very fond of my first husband, but I did not like being married to him), and he seems to love me just the way I am.
I come from a strange, sad, strict, slightly twisted family. They are not, suffice it to say, happy Lutherans. I have spent the better part of the first 50 years of my life feeling bad about my inability to win their approval and acceptance. My goal for the next 50 is to let go of that.
If you're interested, you can hear my radio show (Tues. noon-3, est) and lots of other cool stuff online at www.wyce.org My name in that reality is K.C.
